Transportation
Transportation will be provided for our special needs’ preschoolers. Parents are responsible for the safety of their children while going to and from pick-up points. Parents or another responsible adult must escort children to and from the bus. The buses transporting preschoolers are equipped with harnesses. Wheelchair buses are also available for children who must be transported in wheelchairs. A bus aide is assigned to buses to ensure your child’s safety. All school rules are to be obeyed on the bus. The bus driver has complete authority while students are riding the bus. Any student who repeatedly violates the safety precautions and/or bus rules may be denied the privilege of riding the bus. Please discuss bus safety rules with your child at home.
If a preschool child is transported privately (not by bus), parents are required to indicate verbally and in writing who is providing their child’s transportation. Additionally, if a child’s point of pick up or destination is changed, parents are required to indicate, in writing, the new address and date of change. If your child will not be riding the bus on a given day due to illness, doctor’s appointment, ect, please call the bus garage to alert them to that fact at –921-4700.
*Please note that pick up both A.M. and P.M. for those transported by parent or care provider is at the south doors. Cars are to be parked in the lot not by the doors. The transporter must enter the building to pick up children. A.M. dismissal is 11:15 and P.M. dismissal is 3:15.
