Look what we were just awarded! Debra Stoner, school nurse, was awarded a Hilliard Education Foundation grant of $4,400 so we can purchase an otoacoustic emisions screening system (a hearing screening device that can be used for the noncommunicative student). This device can be used for many students across the district. Hooray!! Thank you, Hilliard Education Foundation!
Hi, Preschool Families,
It has come to our attention that there are some people who are leaving their younger children in the car while they bring their preschooler into the building. The safety of our children is of utmost importance. Please do not leave any child unattended at any time. It is important that parents stress this with any person who is responsible for bringing their children to our school as well.
Secondly, this is a reminder that May 6th is Election Day. The HCSD Preschool is one of the polling places in the district. Please be aware that there will be additional people throughout the day which may have an impact at arrival and dismissal. As a staff, we will adhere to our practice of providing a safe learning environment for our students.
Thanks for your assistance with these items.
Hilliard Schools’ Flyers Move Online
We’ve all experienced the frustration of sifting through all the papers in the backpack searching for the one thing that may be of interest to our family. In many cases we simply dump the entire stack, sometimes missing the important note from the teacher or the great opportunity from the PTO. At Hilliard City Schools we want to be responsive to parent requests and create a better experience for all families while also being more environmentally friendly and cost effective in our operations.
Starting March 1st all PTO, Booster and community group fliers will be available online in the Hilliard Schools’ Flyer Connection . This means no more printing expenses for school groups and better communication with parents! All fliers will be available in one location and parents can search by school or school grade level to find out about all the great things going on. Find out about great opportunities for your student today!
We hope everyone has had a wonderful break! The HCSD Preschool is busy preparing for another year of learning with our youngest community members. Our preschool program is comprised of children ages 3-5 who have a disability and children also ages 3-5 who are peers. Peers are children who do not have a disability. Peer applications are accepted throughout the year; however, there currently is a waiting list for the 2013-14 school year.
We are implementing a change with the application process for the peers. Effective September 1, 2013, applications for peers will only be accepted when the child is at least 2 years old. After September 1, 2013, the HCSD Preschool program will no longer accept applications for peers who have not yet turned 2 years of age.
